Imo they should eliminate free agency completely. A player signs a contract and when it expires he goes on the market. Highest bider takes him, in case of a tie team with lower record gets him and thats that. And all contracts are restricted so a team can keep his rookie for the career.

Didnt they get a minesotta first round pick as well, it was thought valuable at the time. And Gordon is quite a good piece and he is restricted. Also Kaman could fetch a decent player. It is much better than nothing it's not like they were gonna win it this year.

When Kaman was on the block, the best offer they could get was Flynn, Hill and Thabeet from the Rockets. And NOLA was seriously considering it, too. lol

I've always thought Gordon was overrated anyway. He's undersized and he's never shot an exceptional percentage at any point in his career. Good player? Yes. Worth big money or a center piece for a franchise? Absolutely not. He should be your 2nd or 3rd option. I feel for the NOLA coach. He did a great job last year but with all this trade stuff he's likely never going to get a fair chance.

I agree Bryan, Gordon will never be the first option. Even in NOLA's current status IMO. Monty Williams is too smart to take Gordons bs. He acting like a superstar even though he barely qualifies as a star
