The fourth quarter concluded 91-84 with the Kings failing to make a comeback. Tyreke Evans who was shooting 4-16 going into the fourth was given the green light by coach Keith Smart to continue shooting in order to get out of the slump. He was told that a shooting guard's greatest asset is his short memory. He went 7/11 in the fourth. His free throw shooting was off the charts as well as the opponents were playing hack a Evans and he was 14/19 from the free throw line, ending the game with 36 points and 4 assists along with 2 steals and 1 block. Cousins showed up with 6/8 bringing him to 13 points and 7 rebounds while Thornton and Fredette went cold in the second half and only had 6 points combined in that half. Thornton however added 3 of rebounds assists and steals along with turnovers. Young and Wall led their team with 23 points each and Wall added 17 ASSISTS as well. Kings got close to coming back with one minute left it was 88-84 but their failure to capitalize in the clutch time has come to haunt them once more as they extend their losing streak.
Facts; Evans is averaging 17.4 points per game, tied for 6th in the league alongside Carmelo Anthony yet third at his position behind Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose while also averaging 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 1.5 steals per game in his goal for All-Star. Fredette on the other hand is averaging 8 points per game and thus 4th for rookies behind Kyrie Irving, Reggie Jackson and Kemba Walker. Evans remains seventh in the West all-star voting behind Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry, Kobe Bryant, Russell Westbrook, Steve Nash and Kevin Martin and while he's close to passing Steve and Marting, Russell is still a long way away. DeMarcus Cousins is also seventh at the center position behind Al Jefferson, Tim Duncan, Andrew Bynum, Nene, Dalembert and Gortat but is 100,000 votes behind.
